Step 3. Measure your radiator
a. Carefully measure and note down your radiator dimensions as indicated by the drawing below (in millimetres).

measure radiator

If you require help converting from inches to mm:

Examples of inches converted to millimetres.
(simply multiply inches by 25.4)
Inches   Millimetres
1 = 25.4
12 = 304.8
54 = 1371.6
Once multiplied by 25.4 the result can be rounded to the nearest whole number.

b. View the table to obtain the external measurements of the cover.

Cover
External Dimensions
Notes
Contemporary
(CO5)
measured width +65mm
measured height +50mm
measured depth +50mm
Contemporary cover plinths do not continue around the sides of the cover or add extra depth to the front of the cover. They can be fitted to radiators where you wish to expose the thermostatic valves.
Woburn Contemporary
(WB1)
measured width +65mm
measured height +50mm
measured depth +50mm
Woburn Contemporary plinths do not continue around the sides of the cover or add extra depth to the front of the cover. They can be fitted to radiators where you wish to expose the thermostatic valves.
The top of this cover extends the front and each side by 15mm.
Rustic
Pine
(RP1)
measured width +65mm
measured height +50mm
measured depth +50mm
The architrave used at the top and bottom of this cover has a thickness of 36mm. Therefore at these points the overall width increases by 72mm and the depth by 36mm.
Classic and Chatsworth
(SC1,EC2,ECF3
,RC4,CH1)
measured width +65mm
measured height +50mm
measured depth +50mmm
The plinth and the rounded top of this cover extend the overall width by 36mm and the depth by 18mm at these points.
Classic and Chatsworth slim width
(SC1,EC2,ECF3
,RC4,CH1)
measured width +65mm
measured height +50mm
measured depth +50mm
Slim Width tops and plinths have no overhang at the sides.
Slim width plinths can be fitted to radiators where you wish to expose the thermostatic valve.
(Slight variations in size may occur due to tolerances in wood manufacture and the effects of wood contraction and expansion.)
Example: To find external measurements of a Classic Radiator Cover :

Measure radiator width from outside of one valve to outside of the other valve = 1200mm
Measure radiator height from floor to top of radiator = 800mm
Measure radiator depth from wall to the radiators most forward point  = 100mm

The covers external measurements would be:
External Width is 1200mm + 65mm = 1265mm  (top and plinth  overhang an extra 18mm each side unless you choose a slim width top or plinth)
External Height is 800mm + 50mm = 850mm
External Depth is 100mm + 50mm = 150mm (top and plinth  overhang an extra 18mm at front)

These external measurements are the minimum your cover can be. You can increase these measurements if you would like your cover to match the height of other furniture or perhaps have a deeper cover so that it can display more ornaments, but do not reduce or your cover may not fit.

Check that there are no obstacles (walls, doorways, window sills, dado rails, plugs, phone points, pipes, etc.) within the final external dimensions of the cover.

If you think that your cover may not fit, or would like to reduce these clearances, please contact us and we will help you make adjustments where possible. We can nearly always provide a solution.
Thermostatic valves should ideally remain outside of the cover. If you wish to expose the thermostatic valve you cannot choose a model that has a plinth on the side that contains the valve. There must be at least 20mm between the radiator and the thermostatic valve to allow the side of the cover to slot between the radiator and the valve. You would need to choose a model that has no plinth at the sides or request a slim width plinth at one or both sides (if you prefer). More info.

As with all made to measure radiator covers, we cannot give refunds due to errors in the supplied measurements. Feel free to contact us if you require any assistance.

c. Go to Step 4 with your external measurements (do not include any overhang) to calculate your price.
